During the period January to October 2003 I made new work, as one of four commissioned artists, for Wales at the 50th Venice Biennale of Art. The most intensive period of research and development was undertaken between January and June; while there was an amount of secondary research undertaken in Cardiff, I travelled frequently to Venice, where I worked on the ground to 'come to terms' with this new place. From June to November 2003 The Ambulant Science Studio, located at the Ex-Birerria on Giudecca, Venice, provided the tangible outcome of my research: various Objects, Devices and Investigations being located there as means of gathering and distributing research data.

This website forms part of the process of documentation of the project: you will find texts from the project, documentation of individual objects and devices, as well as reflective texts taken from interviews and the exhibition catalogue.
